The Heritage Room

This is the quietest room in the house and the one I give to people who want to be left alone. The bed is white with gold posts, the walls are ivory, and a screen of hand-painted glass — green reeds and cattails, made to order years ago — separates the bed from the passage.

The bathroom is marble with a walk-in shower. There’s a small dressing corridor between the two with a mirror and a shelf where I keep a mosaic lamp.
